Ocean Networks Canada's still images; audio files; video; and computer files used in the rendition of 3-dimensional models, such as texture maps and polygon data in any format, generally are copyrighted in compliance with the **Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License**. You may use Ocean Networks Canada's imagery, video, audio, and data files **for educational or informational purposes**, including photo collections, public exhibits, news media, computer graphical simulations and Internet Web pages. This general permission extends to personal Web pages.

This general permission **does not extend to use of the** Ocean Networks Canada's [insignia logo](https://www.oceannetworks.ca/sites/default/files/onclogo_135x135_1.png), the retired Ocean Networks Canada's logotype, the retired Ocean Networks Canada's wave logo, the retired NEPTUNE Canada logo, and the retired VENUS Project logo. These images may not be used by persons who are not Ocean Networks Canada employees or on products (including Web pages) that are not Ocean Networks Canada sponsored or approved.

If an Ocean Networks Canada image includes an identifiable person, using the image for commercial purposes may infringe that person's right of privacy or publicity, and permission should be obtained from the person. Any questions regarding application of any Ocean Networks Canada image or emblem should be directed to the email address below. 

If ONC's material is to be used for commercial purposes, especially including advertisements or motion pictures, it must not explicitly or implicitly convey ONC's endorsement of commercial goods or services. To request ONC's multimedia assets, please include a link to the image or footage, a brief summary of how it will be used, and a timeline for receiving the image. A staff member will respond as soon as possible to discuss applicable license terms and fees.
