The ocean is fundamentally involved in almost every classroom subject. ONC provides high-quality resources that help educators integrate ocean intelligence into their curriculum.
Big Blue and You
Big Blue and You is ONC’s professional development series that assists educators in bringing ocean science into classrooms. The content is best suited to middle and high school educators, and all levels of educators are welcome to participate. The workshop content has been developed by certified BC teachers in collaboration with school districts and local Indigenous knowledge holders.
ONC and the Royal BC Museum
ONC and the Royal BC Museum have teamed up to provide orca-related resources and a professional development session for educators. The resources within the playlist promote ocean literacy and demonstrate how we are all connected to the ocean and have a responsibility to protect ocean health. Through the species lens of orcas, we hope learners will deepen their understanding of the essential principles and concepts about the ocean, improve their ability to communicate about the ocean in a meaningful way, and are able to make informed decisions regarding the ocean and its resources.
